Twins

Here's a quickie, something I whipped up kind of specifically to submit to MICArotica, but also just because it was fun. I call them the Topknot Twins.

Digital Illustration update

a couple things for digital illustration. A still life of my tuscan chicken panini, and a few of the better speed-paintings I completed (totalling 100, phew. kind of a drag.)

I used PaintTool Sai for both of these, as well as the self portrait I did earlier. I love it, but I am looking forward to resuming use of photoshop.

Revisions

Revising the Alice in Wonderland piece for a poster for the Young Playwrights Festival. The game: can you spot the differences?

Digital Self-Portrait

My first assignment for digital illustration.
Done in Paint Tool Sai, in about 2-1/2 hours. More of a study than a piece, because I haven't done any digital painting in a *long* time. Thought I'd play it safe for the first try...sat down with a sketch and a mirror and some desk lamps, and after a few botched attempts I remembered how to paint and here ya go. Some issues with shading and colors, but I'm okay with it.

Did I mention I really hate to paint? I studied painting for like five years and finally said goodbye to it for good in college. The real problem is that I love painting, I just can't do it. Which frustrates me to all hell. I have the technical skills, but none of the patience or instinct.

just when you thought it was safe

I'm not much of an artist alley girl, but I've fallen in with an Otakon Artist Alley troupe called "OK GIV BABI" who specialize in obscure fan-art.

My Top Fandoms:
1) Archie Comics
2) Power Rangers
3) Doctor Who
4) Digimon
5) Avatar: The Last Airbender

If you're gonna be at Otakon, come check out our table.

More on thesis later.

Space Jail

Space Jail is a collaborative comic made of awesome, bein' cranked out by MICA's Sequential Art Club. Aliens, repo men, sexy three-boobed octopus ladies, guns, and bushy beards. Gotta love it!
I made some spiffy chapter cover-pages for the project. You can find the story outline and such here.
